Alnwick & Seahouses

Visiting Alnwick is like stepping into a fairytale town, where you can dine in the twinkling treetops of one of the world’s largest treehouse restaurants, fly a broomstick at Alnwick Castle, and discover the intrigue of the poison garden at The Alnwick Garden.  

Alnwick town retains many of its cobbled streets, narrow alleys and fine stone buildings which now house a range of specialist shops and family businesses as well as some of what once totalled over 50 inns. Based in what was the Victorian Railway Station for Alnwick and now a magnificent listed building, Barter Books is one of the largest second hand book shops in England, with over 350,000 books to choose from in an atmosphere of cosy peace & tranquility.

After your day exploring Alnwick we then travel to the seaside village of Seahouses where you can enjoy fresh fish and chips by the harbour or enjoy a walk along the sand dunes of the Northumberland coastline.
